DESCRIPTION:Handgun 201 is an intermediate-level course built for shooters who already possess a solid foundation in basic handgun skills and are ready to take the next step. This class goes beyond fundamentals\, focusing on advanced handgun techniques\, efficient gun handling\, and the application of skills in dynamic\, real-world environments. \nStudents will refine accuracy\, speed\, and consistency while learning to operate their handgun more effectively under stress. Emphasis is placed on tactical problem-solving\, decision-making\, and accountability in high-pressure situations. Handgun 201 is ideal for law enforcement\, military personnel\, and serious civilian defenders who want to push past static range training and develop skills that translate to real-world defensive encounters. \nThis course is about building capability\, confidence\, and mindset—training with purpose\, not just punching holes in paper. \nCourse Objectives \nBy the end of Handgun 201\, students will be able to: \n\nDemonstrate advanced handgun manipulation with increased speed\, efficiency\, and consistency\nApply improved marksmanship techniques under time constraints and elevated stress\nSafely and effectively manage the handgun during dynamic movement and positional shooting\nMake sound\, lawful\, and tactically appropriate decisions in simulated high-pressure scenarios\nIdentify and correct individual performance deficiencies through structured drills and coaching\nIntegrate mindset\, situational awareness\, and accountability into defensive handgun use\nTransition from static range performance to practical\, real-world defensive application\n\nKey Topics: \n\nAdvanced Defensive Shooting:\n\nEfficient draw stroke and presentation from the holster\nReloading management under pressure\nTroubleshooting malfunctions\n\n\nDynamic Movement and Positioning:\n\nShooting on the move and use of cover/concealment\nPositional shooting (kneeling\, standing\, and prone)\nShooting on the move and engaging moving targets\n\n\nTactical Decision-Making:\n\nStress inoculation and performance under pressure\nTactical problem solving and decision making under pressure\nIdentifying and prioritizing threats\n\n\n\nPrerequisites: Participants must have a good understanding of their handgun or good understanding of handguns and safety\, minimum of 300 rounds through handguns overall\, Intro to Handgun or Handgun 101 Completion or an equivalent basic handgun tactics course. A solid understanding of fundamental handgun handling and safety is required. \nEquipment: \n\n500 rounds factory ammo\nStrong side belt holster\nSturdy belt\nMinimum of 3 Magazines\nSuitable magazine carrier (pockets ok too)\nHat\, sun block\, rain gear\, we will shoot RAIN or SHINE\nKnee pads (optional)\nCamel back (or something you can bring water in)\nEye and Hearing Protection\nLast but not least an OPEN MIND and willingness to learn\n\nCertification: Upon successful completion of the course\, participants will receive a Handgun 201 certification\, acknowledging their advanced proficiency in tactical handgun operations. \nElevate your tactical skills to the next level with Handgun 201\, where advanced training meets real-world application! \n  \nImportant Information: \n* Minimum of 2 students must be enrolled in each class. If minimum enrollment is not met or there are thunderstorms you will be notified and rescheduled\, no refunds.
