Handgun Classes

SC Gun School offers handgun classes in South Carolina for students who want to build their skills progressively, from the fundamentals through more advanced training.

Our handgun training is organized into three levels: Handgun 101, Handgun 201, and Handgun 301. Each course builds on the one before it, giving students a clear training path instead of trying to cover everything in a single class.

Handgun 101

Handgun 101 is the starting point for our handgun training program.

This course is intended to establish the foundation students need before moving into more advanced handgun classes. It is also a required prerequisite for Handgun 201.

If you are newer to handguns, returning to shooting after some time away, or simply want to strengthen your fundamentals, Handgun 101 is the place to begin.

Handgun 201

Handgun 201 is the next step in the SC Gun School handgun training progression.

Students must complete Handgun 101 before attending Handgun 201. This allows the course to build on skills and concepts introduced during the introductory level rather than starting over from the beginning.

Handgun 201 is designed for students who are ready to continue developing their handgun skills through more challenging training.

Handgun 301

Handgun 301 is the advanced level of the SC Gun School handgun training series.

Completion of Handgun 201 is required before attending Handgun 301, which means students entering this course have already progressed through both previous levels.

This structured approach allows each course to build naturally on prior training and gives students a clear path for continued improvement.

A Progressive Approach to Handgun Training

Rather than treating every handgun class as a standalone course, SC Gun School uses a progressive training system:

Handgun 101 → Handgun 201 → Handgun 301

Each level prepares students for the next, helping ensure that everyone arrives with a similar foundation and can get more value from the training.

Students interested in progressing through the program should begin with Handgun 101 and work through each level in order.
