Shotgun Classes

SC Gun School offers shotgun classes in South Carolina, and other states, for students who want to build their skills through a clear, progressive training path.

Our shotgun training is organized into two levels: Intro to Shotgun and Shotgun 101. Each class builds on the previous level, allowing students to develop their skills over time rather than trying to cover everything at once.

Intro to Shotgun

Intro to Shotgun is great for someone looking to buy their first shotgun or if you don't have a shotgun but want to get some experience so you can make an informed decision on what options are available and what works for YOU.

You will learn safety, how the gun works, fundamentals, storage, maintenance, and some of the legalities with using a shotgun for self-defense.  Then you will be able to shoot different caliber shotguns.

Shotgun 101

Shotgun 101 is the next step from the Intro to Shotgun or a great starting point for someone looking to get more experience with their shotgun for the SC Gun School shotgun training program.

This course is designed to establish the foundation students need before moving into more advanced rifle classes. Completion of Intro to Shotgun, or showing prior training/experience is required for the Shotgun 101.

Progressive Shotgun Training

SC Gun School uses a straightforward progression for its shotgun classes:

Intro to Shotgun → Shotgun 101

Each level prepares students for the next and helps create a more consistent training environment for everyone in the class.

  • Rifle, carbine, and shotgun instruction
  • Private and small-group training
  • Situational awareness and decision-making
  • Skill development for both new and experienced shooters

Every course is designed to give you focused instruction, honest feedback, and a clear path toward becoming a safer, more capable, and more confident defender.
